On 22 September 2015, only a few days after the successful “Helping Children to Paint Their Dreams” Gala Dinner, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver and the Thai Community jointly organized a charity music and cultural performance at the Orpheum Annex in Vancouver to commemorate Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 2 April 2015. Like the aforementioned gala dinner, this project aimed to support education development of less fortunate children at Baan Mae Ramoeng School in Tak Provoince, which was a school under the Princess’ Royal Initiated Project.
This charity event was participated by about 150 members of Thai Community and Friends of Thailand in Vancouver and nearby cities. Its activities comprised a royal blessing dance, traditional Thai dances, and “Ponglang” music performances by Kallasin College of Dramatic Arts, a fashion show of Thai national costumes by Thai Community, an exhibition on Baan Mae Ramoeng School, and a Thai bazaar by Thai Community to help support education development of children at Baan Mae Ramoeng School.
